The goal for this year is to raise $100,000 to help 2,500 women in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a recent report, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the poverty rate in the United States was around 15 percent. For Black and Hispanic individuals it was nearly 24 percent, but that number increased to almost 27 percent during the pandemic.
With the money raised by the IMPACT 2021 campaign, MMA will continue to provide seed funding, scholarships and access to investors for its entrepreneurs. It will continue its economic empowerment programming including: mindset development, monthly empowerment events and its annual entrepreneurs summit.
